Turn the light on. Is there a place that seems to always be dark, within?A place where one may feel stuck on a regular basis.  Unable to overcome the challenge that always seems to be lingering.  More times than not, it’s a place where one will need to move from a common place and be stretched. Stretched beyond what the normal responses have been.  Going further than what is typically predictable of the usual outcome. It’s important to put things in perspective and know that the day to day journey is not always going to be what is expected.

Put Things in Perspective

There’s a scripture used that put’s things in perspective that will allow those difficult times to diminish and turn darkness into light. “Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them” Matt 7:12 CSB.  In marriage, everyone wants to be shown empathy, gentleness, kindness, meekness, and of course, love.   The light tends to shine brighter when the character of a person shows excellence. Therefore, good attributes on a regular basis keeps the light on.

Day to Day Journey

Taking marriage from okay to good and then to, “I have a great marriage,” becomes choices made for the outcome wanted.    The unexpected twist and turns throughout the day are what keeps things interesting.  How one responds to the mishaps sets the tone for what is being embraced.  Turning the light on speaks to who you are.   Therefore, giving the best of you every time you say, “Good morning” starts the day to day journey with a light.

This little light of mine
I’m going to let it shine
Oh, this little light of mine
I’m going to let it shine

This little light of mine
I’m going to let it shine
Let it shine, all the time, let it shine

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 KJV
